My bushes are still not too mature, but enough to give beautiful scented blooms! I'll give you the secret: Just get it in the ground!! Don't wait! Also, I referred the big old Martha Stewart book since it first came out, I'm not sure it's even in print. It's a month by month one, published in early 90's. We do live in the country, on 5 acres, so everything is a lot of work, but very rewarding!Heidihttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10268189578633016712noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3320057017261571738.post-45911532832487267912007-04-30T15:21:00.000-04:002007-04-30T15:21:00.000-04:00I am sooo laughing right now. My husband says "what. for dirt and weeds." hmmph....he's always happy with the outcome though! I've had it folded open to that page for a week now wishing I could come up with a better garden plan.

My favorite website is the Cottage Gardens section of the Garden Web forums. Everyone is so knowledgeable and generous with their information. They probably have them all and by sampling them at home you find your favorite and then can buy it!
Sounds like our husbands have similiar ideas of oganization! haha. I let him know where I would like the bed and what shape/size and he comes in and makes it perfect. I choose the plants mostly.
The process is fun, you can start with beautiful flowering bushes! I LOVE Viburnum x juddii (judd Viburnum) fragrant 21/2 to 31/2" flowers,6-8' H by 6-8'W;rounded shape.Full sun to partial shade.
Happy Gardening
With Kindness, MaryMerci-Noteshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14425587321074501328noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3320057017261571738.post-16322759146430581212007-04-28T08:15:00.000-04:002007-04-28T08:15:00.000-04:00Love that garden! I get so frustrated trying to keep up with those weeds!

I would recommend just getting a book that has a general overview of plants and landscaping. I love to look at the gardening magazines so you might just pick up a few of those. Mosty I think you will learn by trial and error.

HeatherHeather ~ Pretty Petalshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14264722704250207512noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3320057017261571738.post-15970456939773483242007-04-27T18:21:00.000-04:002007-04-27T18:21:00.000-04:00Beautiful!
