Gotta Love This Guy!

Jeff and I went were in NYC yesterday for a live Food Network taping of the special Guy's Family Feast with Guy Fieri. It was a lot of fun. The taping lasted about 2.5 hours for an hour long show. The show is going to have 6 segments and will air sometime this year or early in 2009. Look out for it. You may see me on TV! Guy truly couldn't be nicer. He gave everyone a chance to meet him and get an autograph or photo. He is truly someone who appreciates that the fans put him where he is. I've been to one other taping for a Food Network celebrity (not naming names) and he was not at all what he appears on TV - very self-centered and not friendly at all. Guy is the complete opposite and the entire audience was fed!

I didn't realize we'd have a chance to take photos so this was my camera phone. I didn't bring my camera thinking it would be confiscated before we even made it in the door as it has been in the past. Guess this goes to show - you should always have your camera!

Glad to hear he was so nice. I've got to admit I'm curious about the other not-so-nice celeb. My dd is flipped over the FN. It makes me so mad when someone forgets about the fans and acts like that.

Oh my gosh, Karla! Hubby and I watch his show ALL the time ("Diners, Drive-in's...)! We even tivo the episodes if we're not home when they're on! I'm SO glad to hear he is nice!!! Hubby and I have met some food celebs during our trips to gourmet shows, and for every one genuinely NICE tv chef, there's one that would make your head spin they are so self-centered! lol I'm so happy Guy is a "good one"!

I am jealous! I was there on Sunday for Tyler FLorence he rushed out but was nice. I have so many cookbooks and so did not stand on the line where I heard he was really sweet and I had met him last year and was sweet. But I hear you some are downright nasty or they will not let you take a picture of or with them! Rachael and Giada are sweet. I got to meet Bobby Flay though he was actually a doll and has a bad rep..lol! I posted on my blog about it. I am jealous I wanted to see Guy he is a hoot but they were sold out too fast. Hugs Grace

don't worry! Soon you'll be carrying a camera full-time just so you won't miss any special moments!! I even carried a disposable back-up in the event I just happened to run out with the stroller!

First of all, you look great!

How fun to be present at one of Guy's tapings! I hope to see you on TV, but could you be sure to remind us when you think this will air??? After Mark goes to bed at night (I stay up way later!) I leave the TV on the food network!

Take care!

Yes! Always the camera. You need one of those sneaky spy cameras that my mother in law bought for me to take pictures sneakily while in anthropologie and in museums!

How did you get to go to that? HOW COOL! He was my favorite from day one of that year - he has that style and charisma and spark that just said "Star." Not just cooking host who does a good, maybe longterm show. But STAR. How cool is THAT!
