Our Christmas Village

Following up on my previous post I thought I'd share some scenes from our Christmas village. The previous post was a compilation of some of my favs from Flickr. This past weekend Jeff set up a small portion of our village pieces in our kitchen window. We have Radio City where we can take in the Christmas Show. Have you ever been? Even though I have been to NYC countless times and only live 90 minutes away, I still have not taken part in this holiday tradition. Perhaps in a few years when Chelsea can come with us...

I love the idea of walking around the snow covered streets and picking up some fresh mistletoe.

We can even stop off at Rockefeller Plaza for some ice skating (if I knew how to ice skate that is).

Here is an overall view. Also a bargain hunter tip - Lowes has packs of 4 street lamps for less than $6.00! We found this out after purchasing a Dept. 56 pack of 2 for $20.00. Needless to say, hubby returned those and purchased two Lowes sets at a fraction of the price.

I love the Christmas Show at Radio City. I am very lucky to work on Fifth Ave where everythings is lit up in pretty colors and spirits are glistening. You definately have to come into the city with the baby and just see the tree and the lights and pass Radio City and stand across the street and every half hour they do a wooden soldier show on the roof...cute! The windows at Saks are decorated really cute for kids.... Have fun!

I love your village! I have a collection too. I love the way you have it displayed! Is that a bay window? Isn't it fun to arrange all the little people and things? It's like playing dolls for grown ups! Great job! Now I can't wait to get mine out!

Good morning Karla,
What a beautiful display, and the perfect spot in your bay window.

I agree with Stephanie, putting a village together, is like playing dolls and decorating.

Have a great week!

Oh my - I really thought that was RCMH until I scrolled through to see the rest of your photo! lol I've been there for the Christmas show three times, and I must say that you HAVE TO TAKE CHELSEA once she is old enough! Half the fun of going (for me) is seeing all the wee ones dressed up in their fancy holiday clothes! =)

I love this post! So pretty! Did you know PBS has the Radio City Rockettes special coming up this week and next? Don't know what time it's on in your world, but if you can't get out to it, at least you can see it!

Hi Karla,

Your village looks great. That is the perfect spot for it, too.

I have a village from dept. 56, too, but I am not as far along in my decorating as you. I am looking forward to putting mine up this year.

I have been to Radio City to see the show many years ago and it was memorable. Enjoy the season..

Hi Sugar Bear,

Your Christmas Village looks so very lovely. I remember when you used to set it up at our old house. It always made the dining room feel cozy!

Love ya,

Your villiage pieces are adorable. One of my favorite Christmas decoratins. I don't have any, but I go straight to them when I see them anywhere.
