Tag Sale Treasures

I hit a great tag sale this past weekend. I picked up the above simple white pillow cover, brought it home, threw it in the wash to brighten it up and added this great vintage lace from Heather, some vintage seam binding, and one of the vintage millinery flowers I just received from Andrea.
Speaking of Andrea, here is a photo of my beautifully packaged order I received. She really put the details into everything. It is all so nice and neat and sealed with the cutest stickers. She also included a cute pink and yellow lollipop which I promptly ate. Yummy! May I also say, she wasn't kidding about the glue stick! It definitely smells good enough to eat.

Okay, back to my tag sale finds - above is a cute basket I got for $2. I'm going to use this in the guest room for guest towels. I added the other millinery flower I got from Andrea as well as a scrap of her fabulous One Hundred Wishes ribbon, and some more vintage seam binding.

I was super excited to score this bureau from the same tag sale. I saw it bright and early when I first arrived but passed on it. Well, I couldn't get the darn thing out of my head so I went back during the last 30 minutes of the sale, fully expecting it to be long gone. Low and behold it was still there! I was able to get a great deal on it too since it was the end of the day! This isn't the greatest photo, but I need your help in figuring out what to do with the bureau. I'm going to use it in my living room. I love the roughness of the top and drawers. The base is painted a tan color. I think I want to repaint this portion with a blue wash to give it more of a French feel. What do you think? Should I leave it as is or would a blue wash work?

Love your wicker basket (you know I have a wicker fetish!!!) The roses you've added to everything look so pretty too! Maybe you could get the paint stripped off the bureau and then re-wax it?

Oh lucky you with all those great lovely goodies!!!! I am not sure with the bureau, it is nice as is but could be lovely with a blue wash. If it was in my home I'd get the white paint out, lol, but I do that to most stuff!!! It would be fun to do something more interesting!

I vote for the blue wash - I think that would look beautiful. After all it's just paint, if you don't like it you can change it.
Love the basket and all the goodies you got from Andrea!
Have a great day.

I love that bureau/dresser/chest-of-drawers... it's prety as is, but I can see your blue-color vision, that would just make it yours! Lovely items on your lbog today! The basket is pretty with the ribbons added!

i thought it looked blue already in the photo's, and it looked good. Go for it. After all if you do a wash and aren't happy with it, you can change it. i'm with Natasha, I too would go for a white wash!

I love the blue idea, but am really hooked on blue this year. I don't do well with washes, myself though. I paint the solid color and then distress a bit if it is too solid. Or add the paint to a glaze and go over the base color with it. Show photos when you get it done, please!

Either color would work and look very nice - maybe it just depends on which color would look best in your living room. I with Vicki C, eat some glue and then decide.

WOW, you lucky girl. You found some great things. I love the chest of drawers. Good luck with your decision making on the paint color. I really like it as-is. Why not live with it as it is for a little while and then make your decision.

So you were the one who grabbed the pink flowers from Andrea!! I just got my order from Andrea today and love it all.
