Fun and Games

Hello everyone. Hope you are all doing well. I want to start this post with an apology. I've gotten really busy in work and I'm working on some projects for the fabulous Monica, my swap partner for Kari's Sweet & Sinister Swap. I've fallen behind in my blog viewing and commenting and returning your wonderful comments. Please forgive me! I'll be back on track soon!

Above are a few bracelets I worked on for special friends and family members. Speaking of friends, if you live in CT or NY - be sure to sign up for Laurie's (aka The Glitter Fairy) upcoming workshops. She is doing two in CT and one in NYC at Tinsel Trading Company. I'm signed up for the two CT classes and can't wait! Check out her blog to see samples of the fabulous glittered treat cones and pear ornaments that we will be making as well as a sample of the wonderful box the NYC class is making. I'm really looking forward to meeting Laurie, learning some new techniques, and having fun with all things glitter! I'm especially intrigued by the paper plate pedestal, which I am sure will have lots of wonderful applications!

I was tagged for the name game by sweet Allison and Natasha so finally - I am playing! Here are the rules: Players, you must list one fact that is somehow relevant to your life for each letter of your middle name. If you don’t have a middle name, use the middle name you would have liked to have had. When you are tagged you need to write your own blog post containing your own middle name game facts. At the end of your blog post, you need to choose one person for each letter of your middle name to tag. Don’t forget to leave them a comment telling them they’re tagged, and to read your blog.

My middle name is Jeanne.
J - Junking. Love going to flea markets, tag sales, estate sales, etc. but don't we all!
E - Eating! I used to be pretty picky growing up but not so much now! I love chocolate, Italian food and sushi especially!
A - Antiquing. Love browsing the stores and finding treasures.
N - Need to volunteer. I love volunteering. I feel a true calling to help others.
N - Nest. I love to nest in my home. I think I would just stay in my house if it wasn't for work!
E - Eggs. Breakfast is my favorite meal and I love eggs cooked just about anyway!
I tag Laurie, Sonia, Amy, and Erin. I'm taking the easy way out and using the more popular spelling of Jean with 4 letters! Sorry if you've been tagged already!

To end this post I have to bring it up - the b word - Britney - as in Britney Spears. Leave the girl alone! I do not watch MTV and did not see her performance last night, except in news clips, but come on people! First of all, how can people say she looked fat?! If she is fat then heaven help us all! Granted, her outfit was not the best choice but for giving birth to two children she didn't look fat to me (even without giving birth she isn't fat!). Will our society ever stop placing so much value and emphasis on a woman's figure? Also, I think we can all agree she obviously did not have her heart in her performance, whether it was nerves or not is certainly not for me to speculate. I think she needs help and support from her family and friends. I'm pretty certain most of us have had low points and thank goodness they are not played out in front of the international media!

Phew, okay, I'm officially off of my soapbox. Have a great day everyone!

Karla... I love my bracelet and it is even more gorgeous in person if that is possible!!! Your pictures are so beautiful. I remember awhile back you said you got a new camera and since jewelry is the hardest thing to photograph it looks like you got a great one!!

So true about that poor girl! I wish they would just leave her alone. Heather :)
