I Finally Started Some Nursery Projects

I have finally finished one nursery project! I have been a little slow in this front. We still have to actually clean out the baby's room and paint. We have started the cleaning process (well hubby has at least - it's on my to do list today). I was toying with different themes such as sweet treats/vintage bakery, and ballgowns but in the end I have realized I will be lucky if we get the room painted and the furniture in! We did get a crib bumper and I'm toying with the idea of creating my own crib skirt (this is coming from someone who cannot sew!). I am hoping we will get some decorations on the walls as well but as the baby will most likely be sleeping in our room for a bit, I've decided to accept the fact that I cannot get everything done on my crazy to do list and to just go with the flow.

I created this ice cream cone treat using say it with letters! scallop circle as a base.

I covered the scallop with some satin and used some ribbon to highlight the scallop edging. The ice cream cone is actually a container of bubbles I received from Natalea. I've had it sitting on my shelf as decor but decided it would be perfect for this project. It was shrink wrapped and when I took the wrapping off I was greeted by a very yummy strawberry scent. That was an unexpected treat.

I decided to nestle the ice cream cone on a bed of crepe paper, posies, seam binding and tulle. The Amour charm seemed to be the perfect piece for this creation.
Okay - now I better get to cleaning that room!

Hi Karla,

That is one yummy creation!! What fun. I love it!!!!
My piece of unsolicited advice is get as much of the nursery done as you can. Once that little bundle arrives, she will take all of your time. And if she is sleeping, you need to be sleeping! Getting up at night is tough the first two weeks!

Have fun decorating.

Do not stress...as you said the baby will be with you for a bit so it is OK if the nursery is not completely finished. Take your time and have FUN doing it :)
