A Halloween Treat

My Mom has been struggling with a recent back injury so I decided to make her a little Halloween box to help cheer her up.

This is the top of the box. I used some fun trims that I purchased at a recent Tinsel Trading Company outing and glammed up the flower with a little gold glitter.

I put her completed key necklace inside the box for an extra treat! I ultimately decided to keep the necklace simple. In addition to the rose I showed a few posts ago, I added a pendant featuring my late grandfather. I put some rhinestones around his photo and topped with resin. This was only my second time working with resin and I still have a bit to learn - like securing the rhinestones first! A few floated around a bit but all in all I was happy with the outcome. My Mom really likes it and that is all that matters! Have you heard the old story about smelling roses when there aren't any around? The legend says that the rose scent means a lost loved one is nearby at that moment. I know my Mom and I have both had this experience!

Karla!
I hope that your Mom is feeling better very soon! Back pain is Extreme!
I know what you mean about scents...when my Dad died suddenly I smelled my Grandpa's pipe and my Dad's cigerette. My brother had the same thing happen. Also, after a very bad mornig (prior to the knowing of his death) I suddenly felt better. I think that there was alot going on for me that day.
I will keep your Mom and her back pain in my prayers .
Hugs,
Mary
