Okay - make that a non-alcoholic one for me right now! I love frozen drinks esp. smoothies. They can be a great way to get some good nutrition and great refreshment. Here is the recipe for one of my favorites, which granted is not very nutritional but very thirst quenching!
Watermelon Wavelength
1 1/2 C. Diced seeded watermelon
3/4 C. Lemon sorbet
8 Ice cubes
1 Tbl. fresh lemon juice
Pinch of salt
Place all ingredients in a blender. Blend until smooth.
I also want to say thoughts and prayers are with the Gulf Coast. Praying and hoping that the hurricane will not become the monster that was Katrina.

Heaven
I'm using these images as some of my inspiration for this. I guess they technically aren't candy but they are so colorful and sweet!

Color, Light, and New Ways of Life
I want to send a big thank you and a big hug to all of you for all of your love, support, and well wishes! I'm still completely overwhelmed at the thought of becoming a mama to an actual human and not a fur baby! Having a baby is something I've thought about a lot off and and on over the last few years. Some days I was ready to jump in with both feet, some days I wasn't so sure it would be the path I would choose. Ultimately, the path chose itself and I will trust in God and His wisdom as I walk along this path. I will also trust in all of my family and friends to share their combined wisdom and support!
I'm already being gifted with some wonderful items including maternity clothes! Still hard for me to imagine wearing these as I haven't really begun to pop yet - though I know these clothes will be coming in very handy in the next few months! The photo above is a beautiful authentic Mexican top that my sister recently brought back from her trip to Cabo San Lucas. She so helpfully pointed out that it has plenty of room to grow with me! I've already worn it and love it. I love the colors and the lightness. It makes me feel full of warmth and happiness just gazing upon the colorful embroidery. Do you have items of clothing that really bring out your best moods?
Lots of love,

Baby Love
I love collecting vintage wrapping paper and have a particular affinity towards baby prints. The soft sweet illustrated faces and colors are too cute! These are a few of the patterns I have in my stash. The one above is my favorite.
I do cut some of them up. I've used the one above in several gift tags.
And I used this one in this project.
This is another very sweet one!
You may be wondering why I'm showing these baby prints now, well it is because I am pregnant! I've been rather sporadic in posting and in being creative as I haven't felt that great but luckily, it hasn't been half as bad as it could be. I'm due on St. Patrick's Day, March 17. This will be our first child. I guess it was about time to start as I'll be 31 in October!

Family Photo
My grandmother (mom's mom) is in her early 80s and has had some health issues over the recent years. Knowing that family is so important to her, Jeff had the wonderful idea of getting a family photo. My mom has two brothers and so with their corresponding families, we all took advantage of a family picnic and snapped away. Jeff and I are on the right side with my mom seated in front of us. My sister is standing on the left. I'm a total Photoshop novice but I'm going to try to play around with it and see what I can do with this.
In the end I know my grandmother will treasure this photo. She has been a widow for over 20 years and sometimes I think she misses my grandfather more now than when he first passed. As the family grows and changes and loved ones are no longer with us, I know that this photo will be a treasure for many of us.

Keeping with the Candy Theme
Perhaps I'm featuring too many candy themed posts lately? Nah! I've always had a sweet tooth! One of my favorite candies is salt water taffy and one of the best places to find it is in Cape Cod. There is one particular place that we like to go to every summer. They have an adorable outdoor booth with bins and bins of the sweet, sticky stuff. I especially love their boxes. They are very retro - I have a feeling they are the same boxes they have had for years and have only been updated with info like their website. I am especially enamored with the back of the box. It is relatively simple but I love the blue and the graphics. I decided to use it in a collage.
I added some vintage wallpaper and crepe paper taffy treats to frame the box and a little scalloped awning to give the feel of the taffy stand which has a red and white striped awning.
It brings back yummy vacation memories every time I look at it!
