Sugar Bear's First Giveaway!

I'm very happy to offer my first giveaway! This is post number 122 so as you can see, I let 100 come and go. I had a good excuse though - it happened sometime during the crazy holiday rush when I didn't know up from down. Now that life has calmed down a bit and I've gotten myself organized (yes - you read that right - I finally cleaned and organized my creative space. That will be a whole post in itself. I do need to send a big shout out to my sister Shelley for the major help and motivation!) I can finally sort through things and I pulled out some gems for your pleasure. First up is the above book Glue Gun Decor. This book is chock full of ideas and inspiration for creating custom lampshades, tables, frames, couches (yes I said couches!) and more. I knew the glue gun was versatile but wow this opened my eyes even further!

I'm also giving away some vintage jewelry. This gold and pearl choker style necklace, green and gold rhinestone pin, and two little red flower pins - the perfect color for Valentine's Day. All you need to do is leave me a comment on this post and tell me your favorite use for your glue gun. I'll have hubby pick a winner on Sunday. Thanks for entering and feel free to spread the word!

What a fantastic giveaway! Glue guns are just the best! We have three in this house :) A recent glue gun adventure involved the kids and I gluing red pom poms and twig antlers onto clothespins for Ruldoph the reindeer holiday decorations.

Delightful, a giveaway with such beautiful jewelry and a book! You're so sweet to offer this chance! I've loved reading your blog, from the get go, it's always so calm and smooth over here! (That didn't make sense, but it's the "feel" of your posts!)

You actually asked a difficult question, as I use my glue gun a lot! But my favorite usage is when I'm trying to glue any kind of lace down...the glue gun does the trick perfectly the first time round!

Hmmm...my favorite use for a glue gun...that would have to be for tussie mussies! Any kind of cones MUST be put together with a glue gun or else I wouldn't trust things to hold! Glue guns are great for impatient people like me! thanks for the giveaway (don't tell anyone but I'm past my 100th post too...it happened right around Christmas so I have to get a giveway planned as well!!)

Very nice giveaway. I love my glue gun, but I'd have to say my favorite thing to use it for it floral arrangements, like wreaths and things like that.

I just found your blog; lovely! Yes, the glue gun has a lot of uses. It even glues your Berger carpet in place once it starts raveling....!

Congratulations on your 122nd post! After all, what's so special about 100?
My glue gun - I use it to affix trims onto collages, lace and braid onto fabric or paper, feet onto boxes and anything that I want to stick really well.

Hi Karla,
Congrats on the 122nd post and what fun....a give away.

Here's my hot tip for the glue gun: sometime ago when I used to paint bathroom signs I would use beads of hot glue from the glue gun as water drops. Very realistic when using clear glue sticks!!!
Hugs,
Kerryanne

Ack, is it lame that I don't really use a glue gun? I recently pulled it out of the dusty box for my Sugar Shack kit but other than that... not for a long time. I used to use one for work all the time so I can offer a good glue gun tip though... always keep a glass of ice water near your work station so when you drop hot glue on yourself.. you can dunk your hand, finger into it and freeze it up. Cheers!

OH! I agree with Heidi! It IS so calm over at "your place" : )

Count me in!!!!

I live for my glue gun.....now I have a little secret. If this got out to my husband, I will be in big trouble...... I leave my glue gun plugged in all the time. Yep...all the time. Because you never know when you are going to need to glue something. And frankly, who has time to wait for it to heat up? Not me. So this way I'm ready for any crafting crisis that comes my way....

I love my glue gun and if I don't win your giveaway, I may still go out in search of that book.

Such fun! I have a bunch of glue guns, because I used them in my classroom when I was a teacher.
Now, it's the first thing I fire up in the morning (right after my Senseo coffee maker!)

Love, love, love your blog. You inspire me to create! I use my glue gun on
everything, sadly, including me (not intentional) LOL. Once, when
reupholstering a chair, I used a glue gun to tack the batting up against the
wood frame. Worked like magic. I taught my son at an early age, how to use a low-temp glue gun for his projects. He made some
really neat rockets and castles and other things. Sure wish I had kept
them. He's 20 now and still asks to use my glue gun for various things.
Thanks for the fabulous giveaway. That vintage necklace is the bees knees! rofl

Congrats Karla, on #122!!! looking forward to #1,222,222. Well I hate to admit it but I rarely use my glue gun, is that bad? you know those kind of relationships where you get burnt, it's hard to maintain a friendship after. and i really do like to test my patience so I tend to use gel medium or tacky glue, does that make me a bad crafter? Blessings, Laura
