Sweet Treats & More Sweets

I've been a busy bee working on my swap projects. I'm in Karla & Beth's Sweet Treats Recipe Swap and Jenn & Cheryl's Secret Admirer Swap. Above is the recipe card I've come up with for Karla & Beth's swap.

Each of Karla & Beth's swap participants are also asked to make a gift tag with a rose theme - here is a photo of mine.

Check out these darling divas! Are they not the cutest? These little ladies are the fabulous Betsy ornaments that Sadie Lou so lovingly creates. They are one of my absolute favorite things! And speaking of divas have you heard about Suzi Finer's new venture iamadiva.com? The mission, taken directly from the site: "iamadiva.com is an exciting new website dedicated to connecting and empowering fabulous Divas throughout the world. Read what other respected Divas recommend for leading a positive, powerful, creative and successful life. We are connecting you to the hottest networking blogs on the Internet." Go to their Divas list to see some familiar faces including my favorite diva, Miss Glitter Fairy herself.

I also wanted to mention the fantastic Hope Jars that are a creation of Joy's. I recently gave the Grief jar to a friend and she has found it to be a great comfort to her. The jars come in many varieties including Pregnancy, Friendship, Marriage, Heartbreak, and Grief. Each is filled with inspirational cards that can be read once a day or more. This is a wonderful gift when you just don't know what to give and especially in a time of grief or heartbreak when it is sometimes so difficult to determine the best way to comfort.

On an inspirational note, I subscribe to Rev Run's Words of Wisdom (yes, I know he may seem like an unlikely inspirational source but he comes up with good stuff!). Each day an inspirational quote is sent to me via e-mail. Today's is especially meaningful and I wanted to share it with you.

"If the things around you don't change, change the things you're around... (Remember this!!!!!) Insanity is doing the same things over and over and expecting new results!"

Great quote! Wonder what that makes me...I'm constantly changing everything around me! (My poor husband hears stuff like this all the time: "take this door out"... "change this wall"... "make this room into this.." )

Anyway...You're in a lot of swaps (like Jessi Nagy!). Everything is looking great! And the Hope jar you pointed out would be a very nice gift.

Have a great day!

Your recipe card and tag are wonderful! Love that quote- reminds me of a similiar one I heard about work situations- "if you don't like whats going on- you need to change your attitude or change your presence."

Hi Karla,
Nice to meet you.
I noticed you on the glitter fairie's blog. You were looking for heart shaped boxes. I get mine at Michael's. They are paper mache.
They cost next to nothing. Check my blog to see what I did with mine.
Your artwork is really great!
Loved your blog.
