More Posy Pots

Another posy pot inspired by Postmark LA. Love creating these little guys! They are so fun and cheerful and such a great way to use up scraps. The only problem I'm having is with trimming the fabric background. I Mod Podge it to the back and then coat it again, let it dry so it is stiff and then trim with a sharp razor but I'm still getting jagged edges or an off cut - any suggestions?

It is warm up in CT. In the 90s yesterday and today and forecasted to continue for the next few days. Hope that everyone that is also enjoying the warm weather is also staying cool!

How adorable! Your little posies are so cheerful! Love the button centers.

Not sure what to advise about the fabric -- can you trace and precut to the exact size before gluing? Sometimes I wish someone would invent a "craft laser" where you can just point and click and make perfect cuts on any material :)

Those are so adorable!! What about if you used pinking shears...maybe it would fray as much...oh wait I know...uses fusible web!! Put the fusible web on the fabric. Make a template of the shape you need. trace onto the fusible wewb side then cut out. You could either iron it on or just glue it on. It will hold the shape of the fabric better so it won't fray.

Cute cute- gotta get that book!

I know there is a glue type product called Fray Check, but I'm not sure how it works. I might just pink the edges, and then if frayed, it would like you meant it to be like that.

hi Karla:) i think the little fray on the edges is cute...but if you don't like it, i have seen something called "no fray" at JoAnn fabrics that might do the trick!!!

i need to get that book...everyone is raving about it and i feel left out!!!

it is 95 degrees here right now...wasn't i JUST complaining about being cold...

Hi Karla, These are so cute mounted on the little wooden plaques. Have you tried modge-podging the fabric all the way to the back? Then layering trim on the edege, maybe? Or even, could you try painting the fabric on the edges? You'd have to paint several coats, but it might work! But, really, it's darling the way it is, I can't see the edges you're talking about!

These are wonderful. They're cheerful and I need cheerful today!

Fabric -- I would try (if you can) to cut it to size before the gluing, but if you're doing those little curves on the board, it might be hard to make a template. I don't work a lot with fabric. But seeing these makes me really want to do more!
