Sunshine

When we purchased our house 4 years ago this month, it was the 28th house we looked at. Yes you read that right! I'm quite sure our realtor had about enough of us by the time we got to this house but I knew that I would just know when we were in the right house - and I didn't get that feeling until we stepped foot into what is now our home. Actually, I remember knowing this would be the place as I peeked in the sidelights before we even made it inside. There are things about the house that we are still working on changing, like the old slate you see above, but these things come slowly when on a budget!

One thing I knew I wanted was natural light. I could not stand the thought of a dark house. Well we certainly get lots of natural light in this home and it makes me so happy on the bright days. The yellow walls only enhance this. Coming downstairs in the morning makes me smile!

Cheers,

Beautiful foyer!
Yes, natural light makes all the difference, doesn't it.
We enlarged all the windows on the backside of our home to increase the light, but I still wish we had more.

I love the cheerful lemon on the walls. SO bright and cheery! It makes me happy, just looking at the photo! Handsome chest, as well. Isn't it fun to have the space you really want?

I don't blame you for looking at 28 homes... When you found the right one, you knew! Your house looks beautiful with all that sunlight pouring in. I love your wall color too.

What a beautiful sight to see every morning! Love the yellow, too. I painted our bedroom yellow and just love it...it's so warm. When we bought our place we had looked at quite a few already, but the minute I came to this property I just "knew" it was home! (Mark said, what? with orange counters? 4 years later we built a NEW kitchen addition!)

What is Karlapalooza?

Anyhoo,
I love yellow in homes--I love it on the outside (with some white trime) and on the inside--with some white beadboard--so sweet!

Hi Karla!
I agree with all that you have said! LIGHT, and you will know when you find your home! Our "back" living room (they are connected by french doors), well it is on the north side of the house and we have always painted it a shade of yellow! Sunshine!
Also, I new I wanted the house when we walked up also!!! It was NEW, open in the back, AND WHITE, WHITE,White inside!
Thank YOu so for sharing your home and morning with us!!!
Hugs,
Mary

That is a beautifull photo of your hOME!!! Love the sunlight streaming in.
I am leaving a bright & sunny Florida house with creamy yellow walls and I told my Hunny just yesterday.. when we move it must be a house with lots of light and windows!!! (I am taking my paint chips with me)

28th house! Oh my! I wish I'd had that much patience. I don't have nice big windows in my living room- but I painted it yellow, too because I wanted that cheery look. A house really is just one big on going project.

A home is just something you know when you see it. I got that feeling with our home at first sight. I am glad that you found your perfect one and it is everything you were dreaming of. Enjoy your lovely home and happy 4th anniversary! Amy :)
